Was such a nice walk up fyrish trail. And great views

Fyrish: classic Ross-shire walk. Much-photographed monument up top. Do-able in under an hour. Forest paths can be slippery as anything in sub-zero temperatures. Decent view over Cromarty Firth from up there.

Love Fyrish the scenery at top is breathtaking. Well worth the walk up

This parking place is the start of a 3km trail up the hill to the fyrish monument. Nice walk on the forest and at the very top nice view on the firth (on the south) and on the desolated countryside (on the North). However, the walkers shall really consider bringing back their litter back home. To many soda cans, sprays, etc on the sides of the track, especially at the beginning of the trail.

A great walk, stunning views. With our kids, it took us an hour to get up, 40 mins down, youngest is 4, eldest 15. We noticed another couple frequently stopping so I guess it depends on your fitness levels. Don't be put off though, even if it takes you a while to get up, just enjoy it.
